Media Advisory: Minister Parsons to Announce Details of New Legislation Regarding Abortion Services
The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General, will announce details of the proposed Access to Abortion Services Act today (Thursday, November 17) at 11:30 a.m. in the Media Centre, Ground Floor, East Block, Confederation Building. Minister Parsons will be joined by the Honourable Cathy Bennett, Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women.
The proposed act is being introduced in the House of Assembly today.
Prior to the news conference, a technical briefing will be provided to media at 11:00 a.m. in the Media Centre.
Media planning to attend are asked to pre-register via email (doriswalsh@gov.nl.ca) or telephone 709-729-3812. Those who do not pre-register will have to proceed through the visitor entrance to access Confederation Building. All registered media will have access through the northeast entrance.
