Media Advisory: Ministers to Participate in Newfoundland and Labrador
Association for Community Living Conference

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General; the Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities; and, the Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will speak at the Newfoundland and Labrador Association for Community Living's (NLACL) 60^th anniversary conference tomorrow (Friday, April 29). The conference is being held at the Capital Hotel, 208 Kenmount Road, St. John's.

Minister Parsons is expected to speak at approximately 9:00 a.m. on the importance of protecting legal capacity through legal reform.

Minister Gambin-Walsh will address attendees during the evening banquet which begins at 6:30 p.m.

Minister Kirby will address attendees and assist in the presentation of the 2016 Inclusive Education Award which will also take place during the evening banquet.

The NLACL is a non-profit organization that works with and on behalf of persons with intellectual disabilities and their families. It promotes a vision of communities where everyone belongs and has a rightful place; where families support a person's right to full citizenship with society. The NLACL presents the Inclusive Education Award to a school each year in recognition of positive contributions made to inclusive education.
