Media Advisory: Ministers to Participate in Newfoundland and Labrador
Association for Community Living Conference

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General; the Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities; and, the Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will speak at the Newfoundland and Labrador Association for Community Living's (NLACL) 60th anniversary conference tomorrow (Friday, April 29). The conference is being held at the Capital Hotel, 208 Kenmount Road, St. John's.

Minister Parsons is expected to speak at approximately 9:00 a.m. on the importance of protecting legal capacity through legal reform.

Minister Gambin-Walsh will address attendees during the evening banquet which begins at 6:30 p.m.

Minister Kirby will address attendees and assist in the presentation of the 2016 Inclusive Education Award which will also take place during the evening banquet.

The NLACL is a non-profit organization that works with and on behalf of persons with intellectual disabilities and their families. It promotes a vision of communities where everyone belongs and has a rightful place; where families support a person's right to full citizenship with society. The NLACL presents the Inclusive Education Award to a school each year in recognition of positive contributions made to inclusive education.
