Media Advisory: Parliamentary Secretary to Attend Launch of Choosing Wisely Newfoundland and Labrador

Bernard Davis, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable John Haggie, Minister of Health and Community Services, will speak at the launch of the Choosing Wisely Newfoundland and Labrador initiative tomorrow (Thursday, October 6). The event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Medical Education Centre Atrium at Memorial University's Faculty of Medicine.

Choosing Wisely Newfoundland and Labrador is a campaign to enhance appropriate use of health resources by helping clinicians and patients make smart and effective choices to ensure safe, high quality care. This program will examine the use of health services and match it with recommendations from Choose Wisely Canada, in an effort to improve appropriate use of laboratory tests, imaging and drugs.
