Public Advisory: Forest Access Roads with Moderate to Extensive Damage

Some forest access roads in the central and eastern regions sustained moderate to extensive damage due to heavy rainfall. Individuals should use extreme caution when travelling on these roads, especially around culvert and bridge crossings.

The following roads are not passable:

  • White Hills Access Road near Trynor’s Pit, located near Clarenville.
  • Northwest Gander Road, located near Glenwood.
  • Otter Pond, located near Lewisporte.
  • South Side Road, located near Grand Falls-Windsor.

The following roads should be avoided unless absolutely necessary:

  • Princeton Pond Resource Road, located near Southern Bay.
  • World Pond Resource Road, located near Port Rexton.
  • Mint Brook, located near Gambo.
  • Drover’s Road, located near Gambo.
  • Camp 10 Road, located near Gambo
  • Salmon Pond, located near Glenwood.
  • Burnt Bay Lake, located near Glenwood.
  • Jumpers Brook Road, located near Bishop’s Falls.

The department is continuing to assess the damage related to the storm and will keep the public informed.
