Public Advisory: Further Update on Damaged Forest Access Roads

Some forest access roads in the central and eastern regions sustained moderate to extensive damage due to heavy rainfall during the Thanksgiving weekend. Individuals should use extreme caution when travelling on these roads, especially around culvert and bridge crossings.

The following roads are not passable:

  • White Hills Access Road near Trynor's Pit, near Clarenville.
  • Port Blanford Access Road, near Port Blanford.
  • Northwest Gander Road, near Glenwood.
  • Larson's Falls, near Glenwood.
  • Burnt Bay Lake, near Glenwood.
  • Otter Pond, near Lewisporte.
  • Diver Pond Road, near Point Leamington.
  • Brinks Pond, near Campbellton.
  • South Side Road, near Grand Falls-Windsor.
  • Beatons Brook Bridge, near Bishop's Falls.
  • Chipper Resource Road, near Grand Falls-Windsor.

The following roads should be avoided unless absolutely necessary:

  • Princeton Pond Resource Road, near Southern Bay.
  • World Pond Resource Road, near Port Rexton.
  • Bloomfield Access Road, near Bloomfield.
  • Beaver Pond Road, near North West Brook.
  • Drover's Road, near Gambo.
  • Camp 10 Road to Rodney Pond, Fleigher's, Skin Bridge and Triton Brook, near Gambo
  • Northwest Pond, near Gambo
  • Salmon Pond, near Glenwood.
  • South Side Road, via Pine Camp Route 360
  • Jumpers Brook Road, near Bishop's Falls.
  • Sandy Lake Road, near Grand Falls-Windsor.
  • New Bay Road, near Grand Falls-Windsor.
  • Southern Lake, near Point Leamington.
  • Miguel Lake Resource Road, near Bishop's Falls.
  • Sandy Pond Resource Road, near Bishop's Falls.

The department is continuing to assess the damage related to the storm and will keep the public informed.
