Media Advisory: Premier Ball to Announce Presumptive Cancer Care for Firefighters
The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will announce details regarding presumptive cancer coverage for firefighters today. Premier Ball will be joined by the Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Service NL and Minister Responsible for Workplace NL; Doug Cadigan, President of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1075; Duane Antle, President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Fire Services; and Dennis Hogan, CEO of Workplace NL.
The event will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the Media Centre, East Block, Confederation Building.
A technical briefing for media will begin at 11:00 a.m. The briefing will provide details of the proposed legislative amendment.
Media planning to attend are asked to pre-register via email (doriswalsh@gov.nl.ca) or telephone 709-729-3812. Those who do not pre-register will have to proceed through the visitor entrance to access Confederation Building. All registered media will have access through the northeast entrance.
