Media Advisory: Premier Ball, Minister Mitchelmore to Visit Agricultural Research Centre

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will visit the Western Agriculture Centre and Research Station to witness the planting of the province's first canola field tomorrow (Friday, May 20) beginning 10:30 a.m. The research station is located off the Trans-Canada Highway, Pynn's Brook. He will be joined by the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister Responsible for the Forestry and Agrifoods Agency.

Canola is grown in nine Canadian provinces and worth over $19 billion to the Canadian economy. It is Canada's second most important revenue generator behind wheat.
