Media Advisory: Premier Ball to Announce Details of Inaugural Legislation to Modernize Appointment Process

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will announce details tomorrow (Thursday, March 10) of his government's inaugural legislation - an act to establish an Independent Appointments Commission and to require a merit-based process for various appointments.

The Honourable Cathy Bennett, Minister Responsible for the Public Service Commission, and the Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Government House Leader, will join Premier Ball in making the announcement.

The announcement will take place in the Media Centre, Ground Floor, East Block, Confederation Building at 12:30 p.m.

The news conference will be streamed live and will be available at www.gov.nl.ca.
