Statement: Minister Responsible for the Status of Women Reiterates Provincial Government’s Commitment to Harassment-Free Environments
The Honourable Cathy Bennett, Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, today reiterated the Provincial Government's commitment to harassment free environments.
“Harassment in any form or at any time is not tolerated. Regardless of issues in any work place, sexual harassment is unacceptable. No person should be made to feel threatened or harassed in the workplace and we should all stand together against that type of behaviour. Our government, through the Women's Policy Office, works to help put measures in place to ensure all residents feel safe in their community and work environments.
“We will continue to work together to stop all forms of violence and harassment. We will also continue to support the efforts of the Provincial Advisory Council on the Status of Women. Understanding and awareness of the serious issue of sexual harassment is all of our responsibility.”
