Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Perry Trimper, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

MINISTER'S DECISION EXTENDED:

Long Pond Weir        (Reg. 1783)
Proponent: City of St. John's

The Department of Environment and Conservation and the proponent have agreed to extend the deadline for public comments to April 28, 2016; and the minister's decision to May 8, 2016.

ERRATUM:

The proponent for the proposed Long Pond Weir project advises that there are errors in flood maps provided in Appendix R of the Environmental Preview Report (EPR) for the above undertaking. Specifically, maps illustrating the 1:5 AEP + 30 per cent and the 1:20 AEP + 30 per cent pre and post weir construction floodplains are incorrect. A revised Appendix R, which includes maps illustrating the correct floodplains, has been placed on the Department's website at the link below:

The proponent, Northside Landscaping Limited, has agreed to extend the deadline for the minister's decision to May 15, 2016.
