Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Perry Trimper, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

AMENDMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT SUBMITTED:

Fermeuse Offshore Marine Base Project                         (Reg. 1773)
Proponent: Fermeuse Enterprises Limited

The proponent has submitted an amendment to the Environmental Preview Report (EPR), as required by the Minister of Environment and Conservation. The amendment is subject to a public and government review and can be viewed on the Department of Environment and Conservation website at: www.env.gov.nl.ca/env/env_assessment/projects/Y2014/1773. Public comments must be received by April 26, 2016, and the minister�s decision on the acceptability of the EPR amendment is due by May 6, 2016. Public comments may be submitted to EAProjectComments@gov.nl.ca or to the Chair of the environmental assessment committee, at joannesweeney@gov.nl.ca.  Written comments may be mailed to the address below:

MINISTER�S DECISION EXTENDED:

Placentia Bay Atlantic Salmon Aquaculture Project                          (Reg. 1834)
Proponent: Grieg NL Nurseries Ltd. and Grieg NL Seafarms Ltd.

The Department of Environment and Conservation and the proponent have agreed to extend the deadline for public comments to April 16, 2016; and the minister�s decision to April 26, 2016.

Cape Freels Quarry and Access Road Project                         (Reg. 1832)
Proponent: Northside Landscaping Limited

The Department of Environment and Conservation and the proponent have agreed to extend the deadline for the minister�s decision to March 31, 2016.
