The Honourable Perry Trimper, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
Creston North Quarry (Reg. 1862)
Proponent: Wylie Hooper
The proponent proposes to establish a one-hectare gravel, rock and sand quarry near other existing quarries. The quarry will be located approximately two kilometres west of Creston North and approximately three kilometres west of Marystown, north of Route 210, on the Burin Peninsula. The quarry will be operated on a seasonal basis and is expected to be in production for 10 to 20 years. The project is scheduled to begin upon approval.
The undertaking was registered on October 4, 2016; the deadline for public comments is November 11, 2016; and the minister’s decision is due by November 18, 2016.
