Media Advisory: Minister Gambin-Walsh to Speak at Second Annual Bachelor of Social Work Pledge of Professionalism Ceremony
The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Child, Youth and Family Services, will speak at Memorial University’s School of Social Work Second Annual Pledge of Professionalism Ceremony tomorrow (Tuesday, March 29). The ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s.
Minister Gambin-Walsh will be joined by Bernard Davis, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable John Haggie, Minister of Health and Community Services, who will also bring greetings.
The Second Annual Bachelor of Social Work Pledge of Professionalism Ceremony is designed to mark the students’ entrance into the social work field and to instill a sense of the students’ ethnical and professional responsibilities and obligations during both their educational process and professional lives. Students will take a Pledge of Professionalism, reaffirm the Canadian Association of Social Workers’ Code of Ethics and receive individualized name tags.
