Tourism Marketing Efforts Recognized on National Stage

Province’s Tourism Marketing Campaign Nominated for National Awards

Newfoundland and Labrador’s tourism marketing efforts have been nominated for two top marketing awards presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada. The province’s Find Yourself marketing campaign is a finalist for the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Marketing Campaign of the Year Award. In addition, the innovative Paint the Town Contest launched in May of this year is a finalist for the WestJet Social Media/Digital Marketing Initiative of the Year Award.

“Newfoundland and Labrador tourism’s advertising campaign is one of the most recognizable in the country and it continues to achieve great success both in traditional advertising and through the ever-evolving world of social media. Find Yourself previously won the Marketing Campaign of the Year Award in 2007 and 2011 along with the 2011 Social Media Initiative of the Year Award for the 48 Half-Hours Contest. We are thrilled with the nominations from the Tourism Industry Association of Canada again this year. This campaign promotes our province and is working to increase the number of tourists making Newfoundland and Labrador their destination of choice.”
- The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development
