Media Advisory: Minister Mitchelmore to Attend Internal Trade Renewal Ministers’ Meeting

The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development, will attend the Internal Trade Renewal Ministers’ Meeting in Toronto tomorrow (Friday, July 8). The meeting will take place at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, 250 Yonge Street, Toronto.

At their 2014 summer meeting, Canada’s Premiers agreed to undertake a comprehensive renewal of the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT), using the existing AIT and considering the desire to ensure more consistency with modern international trade agreements. The Agreement on Internal Trade aims to reduce and eliminate barriers to the free movement of persons, goods, services and investments across Canada.
