Media Advisory: Minister Mitchelmore to Attend Send off for Beaumont-Hamel Ambassadors

The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development, will join the Royal Canadian Legion Newfoundland and Labrador delegation, as well as students with the Ambassadors Program, before they travel to France to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme on July 1. The event will take place on Monday, June 27, at the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 56 the Boulevard, St. John's, at 1:30 p.m.

Students are travelling to France as a part of the Ambassador Award Program, a hands-on student travel program that enables students to remember and honour our war heroes and create their own lasting legacies.
