Media Advisory: Minister Mitchelmore to Announce Funding for Heart’s Content Commemoration Celebrations

The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development, will announce funding for the Heart’s Content 150th Anniversary Commemoration of the first successful transatlantic cable landing event on Monday, June 27. The event will take place at the Heart’s Content Cable Station at 11:00 a.m.

Minister Mitchelmore, will be joined by the Honourable Judy Foote, federal Minister of Public Services and Procurement, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), as well as the Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture and MHA for Carbonear - Trinity - Bay de Verde.
