Media Advisory: Minister Mitchelmore to Visit The Commissariat
As part of Tourism Awareness Week, the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development, will visit The Commissariat tomorrow (Tuesday, May 31) at 11:00 a.m. The Commissariat is located at the corner of King's Bridge Road and Military Road, St. John’s.
The Commissariat is one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most well-known Provincial Historic Sites. The Commissariat was built between 1818-1820 as the home and offices of the Assistant Commissary General – the supply officer for British forces in Newfoundland.
