Diversifying the Economy Through Innovation

Highlighting Innovation: Resource Innovations Inc. Advances New Marketing Plan

Innovation Week, a series of events dedicated to the advances being made in Newfoundland and Labradors technology sector, is being held this week. During Innovation Week, the department will shine a spotlight on some of the innovative companies that are experiencing success and providing economic benefit to the province and its people. This includes Resource Innovations Inc. a Corner Brook based organization that recently received a Provincial Government investment of $33,750 to assist with the implementation of a new five-year marketing plan.

Supporting businesses such as Resource Innovations Inc. is a priority of this government as a part of our commitment to the sustainable development of Newfoundland and Labradors forest industry. I recently met with the innovative group at Resource Innovations Inc. and I am truly impressed with their resourcefulness. It is inspiring to see how young entrepreneurs are helping to shape the provinces future by utilizing state-of-the art technology that supports the traditional forest resource industry. Not only is Resource Innovations a great example of how technologically advanced companies can flourish in relatively rural parts of the province, it can also export this expertise to markets around the world.
