Auditor General Tables Update on Recommendations from 2012 Annual Report

Terry Paddon, Auditor General of Newfoundland and Labrador, today tabled his Update on Recommendations from the 2012 Annual Report in the House of Assembly. The report contains details of the implementation status of 105 recommendations made in the 2012 Report on Reviews of Departments and Crown Agencies.
"Our reports provide recommendations to departments and Crown agencies that are designed to strengthen financial and operational accountability," said Mr. Paddon. "This report, following up on the implementation of recommendations, is an integral part of the accountability process."
Three years have passed since the recommendations contained in the 2012 Report were made. This is sufficient time for departments and Crown agencies to consider and implement the recommendations.
Eighty-five of the 105 recommendation have been fully implemented or otherwise resolved and a further 14 recommendations have been partially implemented. Six recommendations have not been implemented.
"I look forward to the continued implementation of recommendations contained in reports issued by the Office of the Auditor General," said Mr. Paddon.
