Media Advisory: Minister Byrne to Announce Funding for Mental Health First Aid Training

The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, will announce funding for the Transition House Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (THANL) on Monday, December 12. The funding will be used to provide province-wide training in Mental Health First Aid to individuals employed at transition houses.

The announcement will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Corner Brook Status of Women Council, 2 Carmen Avenue, Corner Brook.

The mandate of THANL is to strengthen and support the network of provincially-funded shelters and services for women – with or without children – affected by relationship violence.
