Minister Byrne Congratulates College of the North Atlantic on Renewal of International Contract
The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, is recognizing the signing of a new three-year comprehensive agreement between College of the North Atlantic and the State of Qatar as a continuation of a successful international partnership.

I am pleased that the Qatar Campus of College of the North Atlantic will continue to be a leader in the international post-secondary education system as Qatar’s premier technical college.”

The Qatar campus (CNA-Q) is owned by the State of Qatar and operated by College of the North Atlantic. College of the North Atlantic realizes approximately $8 million in annual revenues from CNA-Q and invests this revenue into the operations of College of the North Atlantic Newfoundland and Labrador.

Minister Byrne attended the formal signing ceremony of the three-year comprehensive agreement at the Qatar Embassy in Ottawa yesterday. The continuation of this agreement represents the largest international post-secondary agreement awarded to a Canadian post-secondary institution.
Completing a review of the College of the North Atlantic is one of the more than 50 initiatives included in The Way Forward: A Vision for Sustainability and Growth in Newfoundland and Labrador, available online at www.gov.nl.ca/pdf/the_way_forward.pdf . The vision guides Provincial Government actions to achieve greater efficiency, strengthen the province’s economic foundation, enhance services, and improve outcomes to promote a healthy and prosperous province.
