Public Advisory: Provincial Consultations on Apprenticeship Wage Subsidy Conclude Next Week in Labrador West

The Department of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour advises that consultations on the Apprenticeship Wage Subsidy will conclude on September 30 in Labrador City with that session scheduled to take place at College of the North Atlantic at 3:00 p.m. The session scheduled for St. Anthony on Monday, September 26, has been cancelled due to lack of participants.

To date, consultations have been held in St. John's, Grand Falls-Windsor, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Corner Brook.

The consultations are taking place to ensure stakeholders have an opportunity to provide input on what they feel is currently working with the Apprenticeship Wage Subsidy program and equally, what changes or modifications they would view as necessary given the current and future labour market demands for skilled trades.

Individuals are encouraged to confirm attendance at the Labrador City session by emailing app@gov.nl.ca or calling 709-729-5701. Disability related supports and accommodations are available upon request.

People can also submit written comments by September 30, 2016, using the discussion document, available at www.aes.gov.nl.ca/lmda/apprenticeship.html.
