Media Advisory: Minister Byrne to Attend Immigration Strategy Roundtable

The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, will bring greetings and participate in an Immigration Strategy Roundtable, tomorrow (Friday, August 19) in Corner Brook. The roundtable will take place at the College of the North Atlantic Corner Brook Campus, Room 1015, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

To date, roundtable discussions have been held in St. John's and Grand Falls-Windsor, with other sessions scheduled for Happy Valley-Goose Bay and St. Anthony.

People can also contribute to the strategy by completing the fillable discussion document available at www.aes.gov.nl.ca and returning it to immigration@gov.nl.ca by September 30, 2016. More information about the consultations and how to participate is available www.aes.gov.nl.ca/immigration_strategy.html or by calling 709-729-6607.

The new immigration strategy will build on the Provincial Government's ongoing partnership with the Federal Government, and further supports the Atlantic Growth Strategy, which aims to attract and retain more immigrants to the region to address economic, labour market and demographic needs.
