Roads in Placentia Region to Receive Upgrades

A tender valued at $1.6 million has been awarded to Farrell’s Excavating for upgrades to Route 102, Ship Harbour Road and the Argentia Access Road. The work will get underway in September.

The tender for Routes 100 and 102 is the first step in the process of providing upgrades to these important routes, which are used by many residents and visitors in Newfoundland and Labrador.”

The tender calls for pulverizing and paving of 2.8 kilometres on Route 102, as well as asphalt levelling on two kilometres of Route 100, the Argentia Access Road.

The Provincial Government remains committed to providing a safe and reliable transportation network throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Over $90 million is being invested this year to improve and maintain provincial roads and bridges through the Provincial Roads Program and to continue the Summer Maintenance Program.
