Infrastructure Improvements Benefit Communities and Residents

Tender Awarded for Upgrades to Rencontre East Ferry Terminal

A tender valued at just over $359,000 for upgrades to the ferry terminal wharf at Rencontre East has been awarded to Coady Construction & Excavating Limited.

“The upgrades planned for the ferry terminal wharf at Rencontre East are part of the many investments being made by our government to improve ferry terminals and wharves at locations across the province. - The Honourable David Brazil, Minister of Transportation and Works

The contract includes structural repairs to the ferry terminal wharf, which is central to the Rencontre East, Bay L’Argent and Pool’s Cove ferry route. The area is serviced by the MV Northern Seal.‎

“This contract of just over $359,000 is a significant investment by government for important improvements to the terminal wharf in Rencontre East. Both residents and businesses rely on the ferry daily and we welcome the repairs that will be made which will help ensure a safe and reliable service.”
- Tracey Perry, MHA for Fortune Bay - Cape La Hune
