Ensuring Infrastructure Promotes Inclusion

Arts and Culture Centre in Gander to Receive Accessibility Improvements

The Provincial Government has awarded a contract for $315,000 to R & D Construction Limited for accessibility improvements at the Arts and Culture Centre in Gander.

“This investment is part of an overarching commitment to support increased accessibility for people with disabilities at public buildings in Newfoundland and Labrador. This commitment includes $4.5 million invested in total for accessibility upgrades to our Arts and Culture Centres across the province. This more recent contract for Gander will see improvements to stage access and follow previous enhancements to washrooms and the pool area.”

Improvements to accessibility at the Gander Arts and Culture Centre reflect the Provincial Government’s commitments in the Provincial Strategy for Persons with Disabilities.

This tender announcement demonstrates how we are living up to the commitments outlined in Access. Inclusion. The contract for accessibility upgrades to the Arts and Culture Centre at Gander will provide disability-related support for events.
