Minister Proclaims Construction Education Month
In support of the building and construction industry, the Honourable David Brazil, Minister of Transportation and Works, has proclaimed June as Construction Education Month. Minister Brazil was joined by Rhonda Neary and Ed LeGrow of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association, to sign the proclamation recognizing the contribution the construction industry makes to provincial architecture, infrastructure and economic growth.
The Provincial Government continues to partner with and support stakeholders in the industry, and we look forward to maintaining a positive and lasting relationship with the generations of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians that have, or will have, careers in construction. Just as we have in past years, this year we are investing heavily in priority projects that will strengthen communities, support economic activity and create long-term prosperity for the province.
- The Honourable David Brazil, Minister of Transportation and Works
Construction Education Month is an opportunity to inspire innovation in environmental and energy efficiency and to support building practices that will have a positive and enduring impact on the province. It is also an opportunity to highlight educational programs, such as Gold Seal Certification.
Gold Seal Certification is a comprehensive certification program that demonstrates expertise, industry commitment and ensures practitioners are ready to meet the demands of construction projects across the country. We are pleased to offer Gold Seal Certification examinations at our office and provide information to aspiring individuals and offer support in their endeavours.
- Rhonda Neary, President/COO of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association
During Construction Education Month, the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association encourages stakeholders in the industry to discuss and determine matters of common interest.
NLCA is a strong supporter of Gold Seal Certification. By enhancing professional knowledge in the management of construction, Gold Seal Certified professional construction companies in our province retain a powerful competitive edge locally and outside of this province. These professionals understand what it takes to successfully deliver construction projects safely, effectively and efficiently while always ensuring industry standards and best practices.
- Ed LeGrow, Chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association
