Social Housing Renovations Continue

Kitchen Upgrades Improve Stephenville-area Homes

Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation is investing $118,000 to install new kitchen cabinets in 17 social housing homes in the Stephenville area. The work will be carried out by Newfoundland and Labrador Housing workers.

“It is always good to see investment in the modernization of existing social housing homes. Each upgrade and renovation improves the quality of life for tenants and ensures safe and affordable housing will be maintained to meet the current and future needs of low income families.”
- The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister Responsible for Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation

The homes to receive the new kitchen cabinets are located in Stephenville, Kippens and Stephenville Crossing. The work is anticipated to be completed by April 2015.

“The installation of new kitchen cabinets in these 17 homes, in and around the region, is just one indication that our government, through Newfoundland and Labrador Housing, is committed to helping families with low incomes to live and raise their families in comfortable, modern home environments.”
- The Honourable Tony Cornect, Minister of Service Newfoundland and Labrador and MHA for Port au Port

In 2014-15, Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation is investing $10 million to renovate another 450 social housing homes throughout the province.
