Supporting Healthy Living in Our Communities

Provincial Government Invites Applications for Wellness Grants

Eligible non-profit groups and organizations are being invited to apply for funding through the Provincial Governments Health and Wellness Grants Program. The deadline is January 28, 2015.

The Department of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development was established, in part, to bring more focus to the overall wellness of Newfoundland and Labradors entire population, regardless of age. That encompasses healthy eating, physical activity, being smoke-free and other actions we can all take to become healthier, more active citizens. As our partners in the promotion of health and wellness, I encourage eligible groups to take advantage of this opportunity to apply for funding to support healthy, active living in our communities.
- The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development

The Provincial Health and Wellness Grants Program provides one-time funding to community-based organizations and communities, throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, as a contribution toward the cost of a project which supports healthy living and wellness. Requests for funding must be between $5,000 and $10,000 and must be used to either fully fund a project, or as a contribution towards the total project cost.
