Minister Proclaims Automotive Heritage Month in Newfoundland and Labrador

The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Service NL, has proclaimed July as Automotive Heritage Month in Newfoundland and Labrador together with the National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada (NAACC).

“The NAACC and its members not only play an important role in supporting automotive hobbies, but also do tremendous work with several charities and community groups in Newfoundland and Labrador and across the country. The passion and enthusiasm of antique automotive hobbyists has direct financial and cultural benefits for business, employment and charities on both a local and national scale. I congratulate all members of the NAACC on their celebration of the preservation of classic and antique automobiles, and thank them for all they do in our communities.”
- The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Service NL

Automotive enthusiasts will hold a wide range of events and displays throughout the month of July on behalf of the NAACC, many of which will be fundraising initiatives for charities.

Since 1980 the NAACC has donated proceeds from annual car shows and fundraisers to various health care facilities and organizations including Easter Seals, the VOCM Cares Foundation, the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre, Western Regional Memorial Hospital, as well as other health care facilities located throughout the province.

“We thank the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for drawing attention to automotive heritage by proclaiming the month of July as Automotive Heritage Month. The National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada is proud to preserve automotive heritage for future generations, and to use our restored, unique and historic vehicles to give back to our communities through various charitable organizations in the province.”
- Bob Ford, Director and Membership Chairman of the National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador

The NAACC is a federally incorporated, non-profit organization of Canadian automobile clubs. For more information on the NAACC visit www.naacc.ca .
