Residents of Bonavista, as well as patients and staff at the Bonavista Peninsula Health Care Centre and Golden Heights Manor, will benefit from an investment of approximately $820,000 in health care equipment and infrastructure.

“Our government has invested significantly to provide high quality health care programs and services to residents and families. Investments such as those we have made in the Bonavista region ensure that we have an accessible and sustainable health care system across the province. By prioritizing the health and well-being of those who choose to live in Newfoundland and Labrador, we are actively supporting the aims of our government’s Population Growth Strategy.”
- The Honourable Steve Kent, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Community Services

An investment of approximately $170,000 will be used for the purchase of equipment at the Bonavista Health Care Centre, including:

  • A new telephone system for the centre;
  • Equipment to support treatment for skin conditions;
  • A food steamer for the food services division; and

“Communities in Bonavista South welcome this investment in health care services. This funding will ensure continued access to modern equipment and solid infrastructure for employees in these facilities as they continue with the critical work of caring for individuals and families in the region.”
- Glen Little, MHA for the District of Bonavista South

An allocation of $650,000 is being provided at Golden Heights Manor to support the installation of air conditioning throughout the facility to ensure the comfort of residents and staff.
