Investing in Health Care Infrastructure
Over $340,000 Enhances Health Care at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre in Botwood
The Provincial Government will invest over $340,000 in the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre in Botwood for new equipment and infrastructure upgrades.

Over the past five years, our government has provided nearly $3.2 million to support health care enhancements at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre. Through investments like the one announced today, we are helping to build a solid foundation for the future health and well-being of the people of the province.”

Funding will be used to purchase new equipment at the health care centre including equipment for the food services department, the emergency room and the blood collection laboratory.

Upgrades at the centre include renovations to the nursing station in the protective care unit and to the tub room for residents. These renovations will contribute to improved efficiency of services for patients.

Budget 2015 invests a total of $133.7 million to ensure residents have access to new and modern health care facilities and equipment. This investment includes approximately $40 million for new health care equipment and $20 million for repair and renovation projects across Newfoundland and Labrador.
