Provincial Government Provides $2 Million for Health Care Services in Gander

An investment of $2 million for new health care equipment at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre will strengthen health care services for residents of the central region of the province.

"The residents of Gander and surrounding areas rely on the vital services provided through the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre and our government is committed to ensuring that health care staff have access to the most modern equipment available. These investments will have a positive and long-lasting impact on patient care in the central region of the province."
- The Honourable Steve Kent, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Community Services

Through an investment of $2 million the health centre will be provided with a new ambulance, ultrasound machine, an upgrade to the CT scanner which is used in diagnostic imaging, various specialized beds and chairs used in prenatal, geriatric, and acute care and new examination tables.

"The James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre plays a pivotal role in the lives of area residents. Recognizing this, our government is making a significant investment today to further enhance its ability to provide services to families and communities in the region."
