Public Advisory: Prescribed Burn to be Conducted at Denny's Pond

The Forestry and Agrifoods Agency advises that it plans to conduct a 290-hectare prescribed burn starting Sunday, September 13, weather permitting, at Denny's Pond. The site is located approximately 28 kilometres south of the community of Millertown and 15 kilometres inside the Denny's Pond South Resource Road in Forest Management District 12.

The prescribed burn is part of a silviculture management activity to prepare the site for planting and to eliminate the threat of adelgid, a naturally-occurring forest pest which limits tree growth. If weather and wind conditions are not favourable on Sunday, the burn will proceed as soon as conditions permit.
