Media Advisory: Minister to Highlight Nuclear Seed Potato Propagation Facility

The Honourable Vaughn Granter, Minister Responsible for the Forestry and Agrifoods Agency, will highlight the Provincial Government’s Nuclear Seed Potato Propagation Facility and view the first crop of nuclear stock class seed potatoes grown from plantlets produced at the facility today (Wednesday, August 19). The minister will be joined Melvin Rideout, President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture. The event begins at 1:00 p.m. at the Nuclear Seed Potato Propagation Facility on Brookfield Road in St. John’s.

The Nuclear Seed Potato Propagation Facility comprises two greenhouses and a propagation laboratory.
