Provincial Government Responds to Auditor General’s Update Report

The Auditor General today released his 2014 Update Report on the status of implementation of recommendations from prior years. The report includes the status of recommendations for 2009 to 2012 related to departments and Crown agencies.

The Auditor General’s Update Report for 2014 focuses on the status of 588 recommendations made from 2009 to 2012.

This year the Auditor General has outlined the following recommendation targets:

  • 2009 – 90 per cent for recommendations fully implemented or otherwise resolved; and,
  • 2010 to 2012 – 80 per cent for recommendations fully implemented or otherwise resolved.

The Provincial Government exceeded the compliance rate for 2009 with 90 per cent of the recommendations fully implemented and an additional seven per cent partially implemented. For 2010, approximately 77 per cent were fully implemented, with an additional 15 per cent partially implemented. For recommendations issued in 2011, 81 per cent of recommendations were fully implemented, with an additional 14 per cent partially implemented. The recommendations issued in 2012 had 54 per cent fully implemented and an additional 33 per cent partially implemented.
