Public Advisory: Pre-Budget Consultation Sessions Being Held in Corner Brook and Springdale

The Department of Finance advises the public that pre-budget consultation sessions will continue this week. The Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will host a session in Springdale tomorrow (Thursday, March 12) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Riverwood Inn. The Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board, will host a session Friday, March 13, in Corner Brook from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Glynmill Inn. The complete schedule for pre-budget consultations is below and can also be found at www.gov.nl.ca/fin.

Those who would like to participate in a community consultation session are asked to register in advance of the scheduled meeting time by phoning 709-729-2944 or by emailing budget@gov.nl.ca. Please indicate if accessibility accommodations are required for participation. Written submissions can continue to be made via mail to: Minister of Finance, c/o Pre-Budget 2015, Department of Finance, P.O. Box 8700, St. John�s, NL, A1B 4J6. Submissions may also be emailed to budgetsubmissions@gov.nl.ca or faxed to 709-729-2070. All submissions will be posted on the Department of Finance website.

The public are also encouraged to visit the department�s website at www.gov.nl.ca/fin. The site features information on the budget-planning process, a budget simulator and options for submitting feedback electronically. Also, interactive software called the Dialogue App is available to allow individuals to share and discuss their ideas on how to address the budget deficit.
