Provincial Government Launching New Online Resource for Volunteers and Non-Profit Organizations

As part of its ongoing commitment to Newfoundland and Labradors community sector, the Provincial Government has launched an online resource to help volunteers and non-profit organizations connect throughout the province. InvolveNL will support province-wide volunteer and organization efforts by providing information on government programs and resources through a single, accessible website.

Volunteers are the backbone of our communities. From those involved through youth groups, school boards, and regional health organizations, to those working with our most vulnerable populations, all are essential to our province. Whether you are just starting an organization, currently running an organization, or looking to volunteer, InvolveNL will help you find the information and resources you need.
- The Honourable Steve Kent, Minister Responsible for the Office of Public Engagement

InvolveNL will provide a dynamic and supportive environment, where people can connect to comprehensive resources and services that include:

  • Non-profit and volunteer training resources;
  • Matching tools to help volunteers or organizations connect skills and opportunities; and,
  • Potential funding resources available to community organizations, including social enterprises.

The InvolveNL website will give dedicated volunteers and non-profit organizations access to training and planning resources, and will encourage new support and growth for the community sector throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. If you are looking to make a difference, or you need a little extra help with your organization, we encourage you to visit the site.
- Debbie ORielly, Volunteer Mount Pearl

InvolveNL also provides links to useful information from external groups that may be helpful for volunteer and non-profit organizations, including research compiled by the Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador.

One of the biggest challenges today for nonprofit organizations is getting easy access to good information. InvolveNL will provide accessible and streamlined information online for the community sector, by supporting organizations with an array of information to assist organizations and their volunteers as they work to have a positive impact on their communities.
- Penelope M. Rowe, Chief Executive Officer, Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador
