Statement from Premier Davis Acknowledging Contribution of Gander MHA on His Resignation
The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today expressed his gratitude to Kevin O’Brien, MHA for Gander, as he departs his position. After almost 12 years of serving the residents of Gander and the province, Mr. O’Brien has resigned his seat effective today.
“Mr. O’Brien has been an integral member of our team and brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to our administration over the years. He proved to be an exemplary member of the legislature and in representing his constituents. I have the utmost respect for Mr. O’Brien and thank him for the service he has provided to the people of the province. I wish him only the best in his future pursuits.”

Kevin O'Brien was sworn in as the Member for the District of Gander on November 12, 2003. He served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier and held a number of senior roles in Cabinet, including Minister of Business; Minister of Government Services and Minister Responsible for the Government Purchasing Agency; Minister of Municipal Affairs and Minister Responsible for Fire and Emergency Services-Newfoundland and Labrador, and Registrar General; and Minister of Advanced Education and Skills, and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities and the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.
