Media Advisory: Premier to Announce Infrastructure Upgrades for 2016 Summer Games
The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be at the Soccer Hut (Topsail Soccer Pitch) in Conception Bay South tomorrow (Wednesday, June 24) to announce infrastructure upgrades in preparation for the 2016 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games. Premier Davis will be joined by the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development. The event begins at 8:30 a.m.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Games are held every two years, alternating winter and summer, and are coordinated by the Department of Seniors, Wellness and Social Development in conjunction with Sport Newfoundland and Labrador and provincial sport organizations.
Conception Bay South last hosted the Games in 1996. The 2016 Games will be held from August 13-21 next year.
