Media Advisory: Premier to Participate in the Official Opening of the Revitalization Projects in Bannerman Park
The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will participate in the Celebration of 150 Years and Official Opening of the Revitalization Projects in Bannerman Park on Sunday, June 21. The ceremony will take place inside the main gate of Bannerman Park, Military Road, St. John’s at 1:00 p.m.
The park revitalization includes six major projects – a new ice skating trail; a redesigned pool house; a Rotary splash pad; a larger, more accessible pavilion; an upgraded playground with state-of-the-art equipment; and a garden of memories. Other changes include upgraded pathways, new trees and flower beds, and new Victorian styled fixtures such as benches, lamps and waste receptacles. The Bannerman Park Foundation is devoted to raising funds to implement the city’s revitalization plan, ensuring the park remains a cherished city landmark for future generations to enjoy.
