Provincial Government Contributes $50,000 to Earthquake Relief Efforts in Nepal
The Provincial Government is donating $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help with earthquake relief efforts in Nepal.
"On behalf of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, I once again offer my heartfelt condolences to the people of Nepal and northern India who lost family and friends in the earthquake that occurred near Kathmandu, Nepal. Our $50,000 contribution will assist those impacted by the disaster and we wish a speedy recovery to all those injured."

The $50,000 donation will be made directly to the Canadian Red Cross on behalf of all people of the province.
"The Red Cross has been providing emergency aid to survivors in Nepal since the earthquake struck and direct support from Canada includes having airlifted a mobile hospital whose medical team is already working in one isolated village and preparing to help in another where hospitals and clinics were destroyed. This generous contribution from the Provincial Government helps us deliver life-saving care to those left injured and vulnerable as a result of this major disaster half a world away."
