Media Advisory: Minister to Speak at Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Awards Ceremony

The Honourable Steve Kent, Deputy Premier and Minister Responsible for the Office of Public Engagement, will address recipients and invited guests attending the presentation of Bronze Certificates of Achievement for the Duke of Edinburgh�s Award program in Mount Pearl. The event will be held on Monday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m. at O�Donel High School, Ruth Avenue.

The Duke of Edinburgh�s Award is a personal development program for young people ages 14-25 and operates in over 140 countries. Through the presentation of bronze, silver and gold awards, the program instills responsibility to community, fosters self-discipline, and promotes citizenship. The Newfoundland and Labrador Division has one of the strongest outreach programs for at-risk youth in the country.
