Media Advisory: Minister to Attend Drawing Workshop for Youth

The Honourable Steve Kent, Deputy Premier and Minister Responsible for the Office of Public Engagement, will participate in one of four workshops to engage francophone and French-English bilingual youth tomorrow (Friday, March 20). The event takes place at 9:30 a.m. at �cole des Grands-Vents, 65 Ridge Road, St. John�s.

Minister Kent will recognize four winners of a comic drawing contest, whose designs will be published in the April 27 edition of Le Gaboteur, Newfoundland and Labrador�s only francophone newspaper. The workshops, taking place from March 20 to 23, are organized by Le Gaboteur, in collaboration with the Office of Public Engagement. Julien Par�-Sorel, a Quebec illustrator and cartoonist, will be hosting the workshops.

Additional workshops scheduled are:

  • Friday, March 20, at �cole des Grands-Vents, St. John�s, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, March 21, at �cole des Grands-Vents, St. John�s, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Monday, March 23, at Villanova Junior High, 2698 Topsail Rd, Conception Bay South, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
