Premier Issues Report Highlighting the Actions of His First 120 Days in Office

The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today released a report summarizing his government's actions in the 120 days since he was sworn in as Premier on September 26, 2014.

"During my first 120 days in office, we have been busy organizing the Premier's Summit on Health Care, recruiting for the Youth Advisory Committee and the Advisory Council on Crime and Community Safety, and initiating reforms of the House of Assembly, which will include reducing the number of seats, changing the MHA pension plan and reforming the day-to-day operations of the House to engage MHAs more effectively. We have refocused four departments to link justice and public safety, education and early childhood development, seniors and wellness, and business and rural development with tourism and culture. We have boldly defended the province's interests with respect to CETA and the fisheries investment fund, and faced the global challenge of plunging oil revenues, promising to consider all options while being careful to strike a balance that strengthen our province's economy. Most of all, we have been listening to the people."
- The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador

The report on the first 120 days provides a theme-based summary of many of the government's actions, both new and ongoing, during this period.

"In the months to come, the Provincial Government will announce its plans for 2015 in a new Speech from the Throne and deliver on its priorities and responsibilities in a new Budget. We are listening and adapting, not only to changing circumstances, but also to public input. I welcome the guidance and suggestions of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. Together we will build a great future for Newfoundland and Labrador."
- Premier Davis
