Media Advisory: Premier to Host Council of Atlantic Premiers on January 19

The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will host the 25th session of the Council of Atlantic Premiers next week, Monday, January 19. Premiers Brian Gallant, Stephen McNeil, and Robert Ghiz will attend.

This is Premier Davis� first opportunity to meet with the Council of Atlantic Premiers since becoming the 12th Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador in September.

Issues Premier Davis is looking forward to discussing include Atlantic cooperation to improve regional competitiveness, labour market issues, the energy sector and preparations for the Council of Federation meeting which will take place on January 30 in Ottawa.

Media will have a photo opportunity with the premiers at the opening of the meeting at 9:00 a.m. in the Fort William Ballroom�Salon B at the Sheraton Hotel in St. John�s. A news conference with the Atlantic Premiers will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the same location.

Media releases issued from the meeting will be distributed by each province�s communications office following the meeting and will be accessible at www.cap-cpma.ca .
