Media Advisory: Minister to Participate in Municipal Habitat Stewardship Agreement Signing Ceremony
The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Environment and Conservation, will participate in a Municipal Habitat Stewardship Agreement signing ceremony tomorrow (Tuesday, October 20).
The minister, along with Kevin Parsons, MHA for Cape St. Francis, will join officials from the Town of Torbay for a signing ceremony taking place at the beach area, off Lower Street, Torbay, at 12:00 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the signing will take place in the Torbay Town Hall, 1280 Torbay Road.
The Municipal Habitat Stewardship Program, administered by the provincial Wildlife Division, is an initiative of the Newfoundland and Labrador portion of the Eastern Habitat Joint Venture. The program is an innovative approach to habitat conservation that recognizes and encourages local responsibility for the stewardship of our natural resources, particularly those areas of importance to local wildlife populations.
