Public Advisory: Hunters Advised to be Cautious near Muskrat Falls Project Construction Sites

The Department of Environment and Conservation is advising hunters to take extra precaution while hunting near areas where Muskrat Falls Project construction activities are occurring. Work on transmission lines and roads related to the project is taking place in multiple areas throughout the province.

Hunters are reminded that Wild Life Regulations promote public and hunter safety and state that it is unlawful to:

  • Discharge a firearm from or across a railway, highway, public road or private road;
  • Transport a loaded firearm in or on a vehicle of any type; or
  • Discharge a firearm without exercising reasonable care for the safety of other persons.
