Media Advisory: Minister to Join Colleagues at Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment Meeting
The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Environment and Conservation, will participate in the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) meeting taking place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, June 22-23.
CCME is comprised of environment ministers from each of the provinces, territories and the Government of Canada. While climate change will be the main topic of the meeting, other areas of discussion include waste reduction, air pollution, and environmental spills preparedness and response.
At the close of the meeting, 12:30 p.m. CDT (3:00 p.m. NDT) on June 23, CCME will issue a communique and hold a news conference. Members of the media, including journalists from outside Winnipeg, may join the news conference via teleconference call. To register for the teleconference, members of the media are asked to contact Liz Dykman at ldykman@ccme.ca or 204-793-6438. Participation confirmation is required by 12:00 p.m. CDT (12:30 p.m. NDT), June 23.
